BDSP Yu was founded in 2001 as a regional BDSP company and a member of the BDSP Group. BDSP Yu employ engineers, architects, environmentalists and researchers who work with our clients to understand their needs, objectives and vision of the future. Environmental Consultancy in the Built Environment is our area of expertise which is recognized throughout industry for its achievements. We look into the performance of rooms and spaces (micro-scale), buildings (meso-scale) and master plans (macro-scale), fusing the technical aspects of environmental principles with our creative architectural and engineering design approach. Delivering real environmental buildings requires a considerate look towards economic, social and environmental values from all parties involved, including designers, developers, contractors and occupants. We aim to drastically reduce the demand on resources, especially energy and water, through the use of efficient solutions creating a lower environmental impact and smaller carbon footprint.
In our pursuit of excellence we have established a successful track record in research and development engagement. This varies from design and technology at building scale through to post-occupancy evaluation, as well as in-house software development. There are many risks associated with the inability of current infrastructure to meet energy and water demands in the medium – to long- term. A fundamental change in assessing the environmental impact of buildings today ensures higher performance, better security and value for an environmentally challenging future.
Using cutting edge technologies and software, BDSP have developed a whole range of computer modelling techniques which allow the environmental performance of design to be tested and simulated on “virtual prototypes” in probable and extreme conditions of use prior to any key decision. An iterative process of design-test-improve and redesign-test-improve again is created until required performance is achieved, similar to design methods used in aircraft and automotive industries. Easy to read computer graphics and virtual reality technologies enable clients as well as construction professionals to actually participate in the design process, share ideas and propose solutions based on fully informed presentation of facts.
